🔍 Week 3 Review

Well, week 3 was just as fun as we expected.

It helped clear things up a bit and gave us a much better picture of the 2026 MHSAA football landscape. A lot went down across the state, and we’re finally starting to see who’s for real.

First things first, here’s how the Top 20 games by Goosepoop Game Score played out last week:

No superlatives, upsets, or top offenses and defenses this week. We’ll have all of that coming at you next week.

For now, we’ll wrap things up weekly review with a Survivor Island update. There are just 97 undefeated teams left heading into Week 4. Here they are:

📊 Computer Rankings

Three weeks of football are officially in the books, which means we finally have enough data to roll out our first Goosepoop computer rankings of the 2026 season.

These rankings are based entirely on 2026 results. No preseason expectations. No 2025 carryover. Just what teams have done on the field through the first three weeks.

With only three games of data for most teams, things will still move around quite a bit. But as the season goes on and the model gets more information, the rankings will only get more accurate.

And already, there are some interesting results.

Four defending state champions are back at No. 1 in their divisions, while four new teams have taken over the top spot.

Check out the full top ten in each division here.
